MFL
At Stanley St Andrew's Church of England Primary School, we recognise the uniqueness of each person, young and old; all people are special and of worth in God's eyes.
The intent of the Modern Foreign Languages curriculum at Stanley St Andrew's Church of England Primary School is to foster pupils' curiosity and understanding of different languages and cultures whilst developing confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing in another language.
French has recently been reviewed in school as part of curriculum development and is delivered through the Kapow Primary French Scheme of Work. As a school, we are currently developing and embedding our MFL curriculum. Curriculum mapping and progression documentation are underway to ensure that knowledge and skills are carefully sequenced and build progressively from Year 3 to Year 6.
We aim to inspire pupils to develop a positive attitude towards language learning and to appreciate cultural diversity whilst building a foundation for future language study.
