Operation Encompass
What is Operation Encompass?
Operation Encompass is a national safeguarding partnership between schools and police forces. It ensures that schools are informed, before the start of the next school day, when a child has been present during, exposed to, or affected by a domestic abuse incident.
This information allows the school to provide timely and appropriate support to children who may be experiencing emotional distress or trauma as a result of events at home.
How We Use Information
When the school receives an Operation Encompass notification:
- Information is shared only with trained safeguarding staff on a strictly need-to-know basis.
- The school's Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) considers what support may be required.
- Appropriate pastoral, emotional or practical support is provided to the child.
- The information is treated confidentially and in accordance with safeguarding and data protection requirements.
Our Commitment
By participating in Operation Encompass, we aim to:
- Ensure children receive support at the earliest opportunity.
- Reduce barriers to learning resulting from trauma or adverse experiences.
- Promote children's emotional wellbeing and resilience.
- Strengthen our partnership with families and external safeguarding agencies.

Network Rail Safety on the Tracks Due to the very high level of trespassing on the tracks by young people in our local area, Network Rail in partnership with Learn Live are working to help raise awareness to students across the UK educating them about the dangers of the train tracks through interactive digital delivery. Remember 15 mins can help save lives and provide important safety information to young people.
