Frog spawn

We have had some frog spawn in the class this week and have been really interested in seeing the tadpoles grow. We are going to release them into our pond for them to continue to grow.

Red Nose Day celebrations:

The children had a fabulous day celebrating Red Nose Day!

Class trip to the Botanical gardens: 

We had a great trip to the Botanical gardens where the children learnt about the rainforest and had a chance to hold some animals found in rainforests. The children then explored the grounds looking at different types of plants and discussing the different environments needed for the different types of plants to grow. The children enjoyed seeing the large koi fish and experiencing the hot houses that were very hot. 

ICT

Today the year 1 and 2 have been using purple mash. They have logged onto the computer then onto their own purple mash account and completed the work set.

Making enclosures and being a travel agent.

This week we have been making enclosures for animals using Lego and we played in the travel agents. We filled in tickets and flew on our imaginary plane.

 

World book day

We have had an amazing day sharing our books and completing different workshops including a pirate dance and making a new front cover for a book and writing or drawing things that mean alot to us. We have also watched a pantomime this afternoon.

Making enclosures

We have been looking at different buildings and enclosures and have discussed what the buildings have including houses from around the world and how they have differences and similarities.

 

Maths making 9

This week we have been looking at making the number 9 in lots of ways. We have been counting and matching numerals with items. We have also looking at what numbers add up to make 9.
