The children attended an online lesson to write a story based on Sam from the TTRock Star World. They were given support to build on their story with openings, sentence starters and a range of vocabulary.

As a class, we passed the wool around saying kind words and made our web of wool, until an unkind word was heard which broke the web. We then talked about the impact of unkind words and how they make us feel.

What does it mean to be a Muslim in Britain today?

This unit enables pupils to learn in depth from different religious and spiritual ways of life about being a follower of the Muslim religion.

Pupils explore the five pillars of Islam and the importance of these to Muslim believers. Pupils will gain a greater understanding of Islam and what we can learn from its beliefs, values and ideas.

This investigation provides an opportunity to learn about the Qur’an and other forms of guidance and visit a Mosque.

History

Railways

This unit of work will look at the development of the Railways in Great Britain giving them the opportunity to find out about the history of the railways and significant early locomotives.

They will also investigate some important historical events, such as the opening of the first passenger carrying railway lines and the Rainhill Trials and they will learn about some of the key people who were influential in the development of the railways.
