PSHE
As a church school we believe that every person, every child and every adult is unique and special with God given gifts and talents which is our job to nurture and cherish.
Why do we teach Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education?
Stanley St Andrew’s believes that high-quality PSHE education is important in helping pupils develop into well-rounded, respectful and responsible members of society who can make a positive contribution to their community. We are committed to pupils’ physical and mental health, wellbeing, safety and personal development.
PSHE helps pupils develop the knowledge, understanding and practical skills they need to lead confident, healthy and increasingly independent lives, build positive relationships, manage risk, make informed decisions and become active and responsible citizens. It supports our Christian ethos and contributes to pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
Our PSHE provision incorporates the statutory requirements for Relationships Education and Health Education in primary schools and is planned with regard to the Department for Education’s statutory guidance effective from 1 September 2026. It also supports the school’s safeguarding responsibilities under Keeping Children Safe in Education 2026 and Working Together to Safeguard Children 2026.
Pupils are encouraged to participate in school and community life, recognise their own worth and the worth of others, understand diversity, develop respectful relationships and learn about democracy, rights, responsibilities and the rule of law.
