All of her hard work has been recognised. She has constantly been running through steps, doing twirls, counting beats and doing back bends. She really has put the work in!

Mental Health Workshop

Thank you to Victoria for taking the time to deliver an interesting workshop about mental health for young children.

Fashion Design

Children had great fun creating a cardboard mannequin as part of a fashion design project and designing a unique outfit for a special occasion.

Science

When we made paper spinners of different sizes, we were exploring how air resistance affects falling objects. Air resistance is a force that pushes against an object as it moves through the air, slowing it down. Larger spinners have more surface area, so they catch more air and fall more slowly, while smaller spinners have less surface area and drop faster. By timing how long each spinner took to reach the ground, we could see that the size and shape of an object can change how much air resistance it experiences. This simple experiment helped us understand that air resistance works against gravity, making some objects fall more gently than others.

English

The children wrote non-chronological reports about famous buildings, describing key facts, historical details, and interesting features in a clear and engaging way. They organised their ideas thoughtfully, highlighting important information and using their own words to make the reports informative and enjoyable to read.

Science (forces)

Children carried out an investigation to find out which shoes have grip and which do not. They used newton metres to measure the friction and recorded their results.

Art

For their fashion design project, the children created three unique outfits, each thoughtfully crafted for a special occasion. They explored different styles, colours, and fabrics, ensuring that every design reflected both creativity and purpose. From elegant evening wear to playful party attire, their work showcased not only their artistic flair but also their growing understanding of how clothing can express mood, personality, and celebration.

R.E.

After watching a video retelling the Bible’s creation story, the children were inspired to express their understanding through art. Each child created a drawing that reflected their personal interpretation of how the world was made, capturing key moments from the story in their own unique style. The activity encouraged them to think creatively, connect with the narrative, and share their ideas visually.

English

The children have been working hard to create non-chronological reports on renewable energy, exploring topics such as wind power, biomass, and solar power. Their writing showcases not only their understanding of how these energy sources work, but also their awareness of the importance of sustainable solutions for the future.
