Welcome to Kingfisher Class
PE Wow Week
Art Wow Week
We have been designing mehndi patterns and rangoli patterns for our Indian art session.
Multi-sports
We attended a multi-sport festival at Rutland Sports Park.
There were 8 different activities to try out, these included: football, netball, rugby, volleyball, cricket, tennis, throwing and Frisbee. We were taught new skills and took part in different activities for each event.
We are proud of the achievements of our children out of school.
The Viking's are coming!
Fantastic teamwork was shown as the children turned an A4 black and white drawing into a 75cm by 125cm colourful picture.
Letter from our MP
We wrote to Pauline Latham (Mid Derbyshire MP) to tell her about our work on Plastic Pollution. This is her response.
TRIBE,

Ella saves the day!
We are very proud of Ella, who stepped into the nets, taking on the role of goalkeeper, in her football match this weekend. Without her, the team wouldn't have been able to play.
She not only saved the day, but also saved the goals, meaning her team won the match!
Well done Ella!
Lunchbox trawl
We noted how much plastic is thrown away daily from our lunchboxes; it was a lot!
The challenge was set to reduce the use of disposable plastics, this was the result!
Congratulations to Kingfisher Class!
We won GOLD in the swimming gala.
Easter
Thank you to everyone for putting so much effort into making these fantastic Easter bonnets.
Roman Shields
The children looked at the shape and patterns on Roman shields, they found out that lightening bolts, feathers and eagles were the main design features.
STEM WEEK
LI, I can make a Roman style building using paper columns, cardboard roofs and pediments.
World Book Day
Fantastic outfits and amazing books!
Kingfisher children like to read in very strange places!
Performing Arts
We are very proud of LS who was given a special award for taking on extra lines at her recital in her performing arts class this week.
Well done, you deserve this!
Road to RIAT Challenge - Engineering Morning
We got to design and make a model plane, working as a group of four. We even got to test them on the playground to see how fast and far they travelled.
In Science, we are learning about the digestive system and today we got to make poo. We had so much fun doing this experiment!
AW got two distinctions for her grade 1 tap and grade 1 modern exam in December and has also moved up to level 5 in swimming and can now jump in deep end and swim to side and swim to bottom and pick stuff up!
MW had a sewing kit for Christmas , she has produced this wonderful elephant using her sewing machine. We are very proud of you!
